Pulp Fiction
Samuel Jackson, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Directed by Quentin Tarentino
This is another oldie but a goody, I would not reccomend this to the younger viewers out there or
maybe the squeamish I guess as well. There are many classic lines in this movie that you will hear people repeating, I hadn't
seen this in ages but could remember the story line pretty well. Overall I enjoyed revisiting this blast from the past.

Batman Begins
Christian Bale, Katie Holmes, Liam Neeson, Michael Caine
I bought this one a while ago because it was cheap at the time and haven't watched it since. It is
one of those movies you kinda have to be in a mood for as it is quite dark but has a ver good story.
I am a keen admirer of comic book to movie movies and this one falls into said genre. It
takes you before all the other Batmans so far created storyline wise and shows you how Batman came about.
The other Batman movies I have watched have generally been good but are very theatrical, this one
is still theatrical in it own right but not so quite over the top as its predecesors. I quite enjoyed it for what it was and
would look forward to another installment but I am not sure if it will go ahead. Special mention in this movie to the drug
related scenes where they depict what you might see if you were on a certain drug. I quite enjoy the drug scenes of most movies
because I like to see what the directors artistic view of being stoned or high or whatever may be like visually.

Wallace & Gromit - Curse of the Were Rabbit
I purchased this for Danielle for her birthday but she threatened to go buy it so i had to pull it
out of my magic presents bag before she could ! I enjoyed this and had a good amount of laughs. I think to enjoy this movies
fully you have to have a couple of things, and those a lighthearted approach and a respect for the time money and effort put
in into every single second of filming this type of movie. As mentioned in the Special Features it takes 24 shots of the one
character moving to create one second of actual film ! So think how long they spend perfecting every single movement whether
it be facial or physical and I think you will be impressed whilst watching. I still think I like Chicken Run more but this
is definitely up there. Looking further to more Claymation in the future as Dreamworks and the Clay guys (not real name) have
signed on for 4 more feature length movies.
Can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike 8 out of 10
Rounders
Matt Dillon, Ed Norton, John Malkovich
I have had this dvd since I bought my dvd player about 6 years ago, I am not sure if I watched it before but I probably
wouldn't have understood back then anyway. It's all poker in New York, about hustling and debts and the seedy stuff of poker
as well as how to scam and so on. Opening line of the movie is "If you can't pick the sucker at the table within a half hour,
you are the sucker" it pretty much leads on from there and surprisingly doesn't end up with the lead role winning World Poker
tour! A different movie and actually seemed half realistic, Edward Norton is superb as usual this time playing the
perenial loser to a tee. I am amazed at all of his performances and consider him like Johnny Depp to be a true actor!
I think I liked this as I am still learning poker, I will give it another watch when I know more about poker and will
probably like it more !

Garden State
Zach Braff, Natalie Portman
This I found to be a very different movie, everything was very well put together and especially considering
that it is all written, directed and acted by Zach Braff. Who of "Scrubs" fame is his first movie, anybody who has seen scrubs
(as I now have) would find it hard to believe that he could be so talented. Not that he isn't a good actor in the comedic
series but to pull of this movie in the style it was done I think was an amazing job. I believe a lot of people will feel
close to the lead role for some reason or another. I myself did and so did Danielle as well, but for completely different
reasons such is the depth of the movie. I hate building up movies too much and will stop there as most movies that I have
been told were awesome or amazing or whatever, turn out ot be overated. I think you can expect too much.
If you like your drama's with a difference watch this for yourself and enjoy !!!!!

From Hell
Johnny Depp, Heather Graham, Ian Holm, Robbie Coltrane
I bought this at Jb for $9 after plegding to buy Johnny Depp movies where he plays some part preferably
the lead role. I had watched it before but only remembered the basic of it.
It is a Jack the ripper story with a few twists to the original tale, I quite enjoyed it but it is
definetly not for the squeamish out there! Johnny plays Detective Abberline who as it is called in the film "chases the dragon"
or as we know smokes a bit of opium in dingy dodgy chinese crack houses. His character is one that has visions particuarly
when he is chasing the dragon about the crimes before they happen. I found the storyline quite well devolped and am now searching
for the book that it was made from. Heather Graham plays a whitechapel hooker who is part of a kind of gang of hookers who
one by one get murdered, all the while Abberline hunting down the ripper.
I found this a good version of the original story and found it more than just your usual Jack the
ripper movie, it comes reccomended if you are a Johnny Depp fan but not so much for the squeamish out there
Not for the faint of heart but great Jack the ripper movie in my eyes - 8 out of 10
The General's Daughter
John Travolta, Madeline Stowe
I quite enjoyed this one as I have mentioned in my
book page I read the book and then watched the movie. There were quite a few differences from both which essentially changed
the plotline greatly. I still don't mind that these changes went on as I still think it was quite a good movie and the screnplay
writers were still able to get alot of the point of the book into the movie even though the plotline had changed. I would
say the plot in the book was better purely because there was more going on. This had your usual special features at the end
such as deleted scenes which I watched and found that they had deleted the whole romance angle of the lead characters, which
in the book adds another twist but oh well overall was quite good anyway!

Cars
Owen Wilson
I finally got to see this one after I thought I would have to wait for dvd as Danielle wasn't all
that keen on it initially, but due to her job she saw the animation in the projectionest room at the top of the cinema.
I was pleasently surprised with the story line of this one as I usually will go and watch a Pixar
movie just for the animation as I love what they can do now, compared to what I grew up with ie Bambi and so forth. Its quite
a smooth plotline and flows along quite nicely and has a very disney finish, but that is to be expected in Pixar/disney films.
I found the cars fanastic and easy to relate to and really liked a character called Mater !
I also couldn't stop giggling at a scene in the movie which no one else in the cinema found funny
but I sure did! I won't give it away as it spoils it.
In all I reccomend this one if you like the genre, I still like Mosnters Inc the best followed by
Chicken Run as I love the plotlines in these ones the most.
Unexpectedly good plot line one for kids and adults - 8 out of 10
What's eating Gilbert Grape?
Johnny Depp, Leo Di Caprio, Crispin Glover
I bought this due to it being a Johnny Depp Film and my pledge to buy all of his films mainly to
see how mant different roles he plays and I think he is really in the true sense of the word an actor. He changes characters
so well that you are looking up at the screen and thinking about his character and not say just there is Old deppy boy up
on screen. For example although I like some of his movies I beleive Nicholas Cage is just Nicholas Cage, as he just has that
same monotone in all his movies not matter who he is. Also the reason I am buying his dvds is that it's easier than chasing
them around the local dvd rentals places and because he has done some very very different stuff that is definetly not of the
mainstream definition which I quite like. Such as Deadman which I have watched but can't really remember what its about, but
I do remember it being really wierd !
Anyway whats eating Gilbert is a pretty different sort of movie. It is essentially about a small
town in the US of A in the middle of nowhere. You go through the movie living the life of Gilbert (depp) who is continually
caring for his mentally retarded younger brother (di caprio-he does a spectacular job !). Its no heart wraming tale and is
full of quirky characters and a plotline that slowly plods along.
Overall I enjoyed it mainly because it was different and an usual topic for a movie to be made about
!
Drama something different - 7 out of 10
Dazed and Confused - This is you classic last day of
school huge party typical movie which I stumbled across when I was a teen. I think the novelty for this movie is that are
to remember your own teen years when you were head of the school and so on. It shows the party from a lot of different angles
from everything such as geeks to the freshman kid who gets paddled with a specially made paddling stick. I don't mind this
one as mindless entertainment and just something to cruise to.
Drama more for the teens and young adults - 8 out of 10
Jumanji
Robin Williams, Kristen Dunst
This was fantastic, I bought the Deluxe edition on special at Big w after much thought and deliberation
and in the end i was glad I bought it. It is a very good fantasy movie and was ahead of its time with digital effects. But
what made this movie was it's plotline, it really makes you believe and the possibilities are endless. I seem to like a lot
of Robin William's films as they seem to be mostly childish and have quite good story lines. Oh and I bought the "Deluxe edition"
unknowingly and I must say that it the coolest dvd ever for creativeness, if gives you a 25 question quiz about the movie
and many other in dvd games, but most impressively it comes in a Jumanji box and you can play your own version with cut out
figures from inside the dvd !! Very Cool !
Childrens Fanatsy - 9 out of 10 for its time.
Pirates of the Carribean - Dead mans Chest.
Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley
I will try not to give plot away as I feel a lot of people I know will end up seeing this one. What
I can say that if you enjoyed the first installment you should enjoy the second! I love Johnny Depps role in these films and
I quite liked the linking between the first and second movie which apparently annoyed Danielle. I feel this is a bit of wit
in doing this and had a chuckle at times!.

Adam Sandler, Christopher Walkin
I went and seen this one on my pat malone due to Danielle being at work. I actually got to see
her in full flight as she sold the ticket to me, and boy did she dirty up on me when I asked if I could get in for
cheaper price to GC. I meant it as is there a way I can get around full price legally, but she took it that I was asking
for a freeby. Anyway whilst I was buying the ticket one of her colleagues decided to tell me what the movie was about
even though I did not ask her as I hate being told anything about a movie before I see it for the first time. (ha ha why do
i do this then ?) Anyway she basically ruined the plotline for me and I was pretty damn pissed actually, but this was still
an ok movie. That is all I am going to say because it is a newbie and do not want to wreck it for anybody else. I think I
will stick to reveiwing movies that I think most ppl have seen.
